WHAT IS PAT TESTING & WHY DO I NEED IT DONE?
It is a legal requirement under the Health & Safety At Work Act 1974, The Electricity At Work Regulations 1989 & The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 that all portable electrical appliances should be routinely inspected, monitored and tested by a competent person to establish their safety.
This requirement is the duty of the responsible person in each organization to ensure that the risk to persons that may use or come into contact with portable electrical appliances is greatly reduced by ensuring that the item is safe for its intended use, does not pose a risk of injury (electric shock) or potential fire risk.
